Last Wednesday saw 18 of Lockton's Profession's Team swap their suits for wellies, t-shirts and gardening gloves - as we spent a day trying to help Stepney City Farm prepare for another summer of visitors.

While we've always worked on the principle that there's more to work than the annual solicitors PII renewal, it's good to ensure that we really do practice what we preach - and so for the third year running, we spent a very productive and satisfying day helping to protect an important oasis in the heart of London's east end.

Our tasks were many and varied, and included:    building a rabbit run, creating some new raised flower beds, levelling off an area of ground and seeding it, and moving a ton of compost.   It's a partnership that has clearly paid off for both Stepney City Farm and Lockton - and it was really satisfying for many of the team to see the fruits of their labour from previous years being well used on the farm today.

This is just one of many practical activities that Lockton associates undertake in addition to our regular charity fundraising efforts  - which this year are for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
